Safety Inspections

All storage systems, no matter how well designed, will inevitably
suffer damage - even with well trained staff/drivers.

Left unattended this damage can lead to rack collapses and injury to personnel.
Raxel Engineers are experienced and qualified in Rack Safety Inspections,  providing a
comprehensive safety  inspection and report service to  ensure that storage racking
systems are maintained to the highest level of operational capability and safety.

A qualified inspection engineer will assess the condition of the installation and
highlight any potential dangers or structural damage which may affect the previous
recommended  safe load bearing capacities.

Any serious damage likely to cause an immediate hazard is brought to the customers
attention at the  time of the survey prior to our engineers leaving site and subsequently,
all relevant findings are submitted in a written report along with
 suitable recommendations within industry guidelines.

After inspection, if damage was found, a quotation will be prepared
and submitted to cover components  and repair work, without obligation to the customer.

As part of Raxel’s comprehensive racking safety inspection service,
we offer clients informaltraining to nominated personnel covering the basics of rack
design and damage assessment, highlighting any specific site problems.

This training is intended to give basic grounding in damage implications and
is not designed to give extensive knowledge of racking design.

Main safety factors to be considered include:-

1) Signs of Frame, Frame Bracer or Frame Upright damage and
a measure of any deflection

2) Signs of Beam damage and a measure of any horizontal deflection

3) The correct location of Beam end connectors and locking devices

4) Overloading and/or unevenly distributed loads

5) Damage to warehouse floor area

6) The general configuration, design and operation of the
racking, as described in the S.E.M.A. recommendations

7) Good housekeeping procedures are observed
